I went to the movies (a Dutch one! It was beautiful) yesterday with my fake mom. I went to the movies (A Thai one! It was weird) again with my best friend Oliver. He went home with me to drink a beer and I had a tea. Then he went to hang at a friend's place and now it's 11 pm and I'm sitting here. I must admit it's pretty damn boring.

We went to take a look at a birth hotel today, we went to see another a few weeks ago and while this hospital has a much better vibe, it's smaller and it feels nice. I don't get the dead people vibe over there. But, the other place has a BATH and I'd really like to give birth in a bath and/or chill out between contractions. J likes the smaller hospital better but, of course, it's up to me.

I guess I have some time left to decide! And take a look at giving-birth-in-bath sites.

J and I went to dinner at my fake Mom's home. We had a lovely Maroccan dinner and we shared some pretty funny stories about the children's daycare that her two sons (one of them was my best friend in high school) went to in the late 70's, early 80's. It was an anti-authority daycare that was found in the 60's, although it wasn't anti authority anymore when they went there.

There were three rooms and the last room in the back had no wooden floor, just sand. It was one big sand box! The mothers and fathers all volunteered there too and there were monthly meetings where they talked about things like: May the kids bring the sand in all the other rooms too or does sand only belong in the sand box? Are plastic toys allowed or strictly antroposofic wooden toys? Also, kids were allowed to bite eachother, because they couldn't speak yet and that was their only way to let other children known that they didn't approve of something. David, one of my friends was always the one who was bitten! And by the time the other kids could talk, he could bite!
Such wonderful stories that make me even more excited about our baby! What adventures are we going to have?
I asked my fake mom to be at the birth of our little girl, to calm me. She said yes.

Not so great

I had an email fight with my Mom, courtesy of my brother. I told her she was egotistical and she told me Moms can NEVER be egotistical.

It's easy to make a baby, in my opinion but it doesn't mean you're sure to make a good mom. But I guess we'll always disagree.

Living together

I moved in with J! So far it feels good. I had a bit of a hormonal shit storm yesterday, 'cause my bro irritated the hell outta me and I was crying and thought: I wanna go home! But J was having dinner with his best friend and when he came home he kissed it all better. That was good. And now I'm cleaning out the fridge. There's a bunch of stuff I want to get done around here before our little girl comes.

I had my first pregnancy yoga class yesterday and I feel good. :-)

This is me. 32-year old, mother of 1 and living in Europe. Going through life with one hell of a man, lots of love for my family and a pretty tight circle of mismatched friends. Very self-confident even though I don't know what the fuck I'm doing! (more)
