I don't know about y'all...

But I'm very much looking forward to seeing this movie! I saw the trailer and I really dig it! Plus, I think Guy Ritchie is a cool enough guy.

Yep, I know I'm six months late...

... but here are a few dresses that I bought in Asia. It's not everything I bought but getting in- and- out of the dresses bored me. So maybe next time... or maybe never;-)

I like this one best. We had it made by an elderly couple. One of the very few people in Asia who didn't harrass us. The were mellow, man.

This one was made in a hurry. I just wanted something!

This one too! Baby girl's colors...

I also bought some new shoes, out here in good old Europe:

Liked them so much I got a pair just like these, only in black... As you can see, if I like something, I really stick with it! Whether it's shoes, music or friends.

And I got these ones in Belgium! Aren't they cute!

Maybe I'll post pics of clothing more often. You know, with me being shallow 'n all that.

Moms and jobs

Went to Cris' mom's b-day yesterday. Only, Cris wasn't there, she had to work. She has this alcoholic, weed-smoking, very sweet but very needy artist mom. When she told her mom she couldn't come to her birthday, she was very very very disappointed and asked if she could ask me to come, 'cause she wanted a daughter with her on her birthday!

So I went. It was nice, I know lots of her family members and one of her nephews was also there to hang out with.

One of my dearest colleagues, the one who I have tons of laughs with has resigned today. I haven't heard it officially yet, but she phoned our manager when I was just finishing up. I hate it. It means I'm gonna have to do more work at the sales department and have less time for my own responsibilities. It sucks!! I've also looked around at other jobs, I don't know but it's contagious.

Shitty beach night out
Friday, July 25, 2008

It's been good weather these past few days, and unfortunately I have to work all day. Yesterday, B and I decided to grab some take-away, eat quick and head over to the beach for a few drinks. As I did when I was a kid, I still always dig away in the sand with my feet and hands while I'm at the beach. Just something to do when I'm having a conversation or something. I really like the feeling of sand slipping through my fingers.

But yesterday, I was digging and B said: " Jeez I smell something??!". And I didn't smell anything, which is weird 'cause I have a strong sense of smell. So when I got my hand out of the sand hole I got out a hand full of.... DOG POO!!!

It was sooooo damn gross!!! They were all dried out and hard. And full of sand, like a Kentucky Fried Chicken nugget!

Hooray for boobas

So, I buy underwear two times a year, always during sales. I know my size, I know what's comfortable, so I'm in and out within half an hour. I like it like that. Two weeks ago, I went to the usual lingerie store and as always, I scooped arms full of the shit and was headed over to the fitting room. Then this elderly saleslady came up to me and asked which size I wear. Well, uhm, not that it's any of you business but it's 75B. And then she told me that I wear the wrong size and that I should try a 70C. Nigger whut?? I turn into a bit of a sheep when it comes to older women who tell me what to do, I don't know, they remind me of my grandma or something. The one with la bouche grande (I only got French for 2 years in high school, can you tell?). I am an adult but something in the way older ladies approach me gives me no option than to just do what the hell they tell me to do. Pronto.

Anyways, I went in with one extra bra in 70C and that old miss know-it-all kept getting in and out of my fitting room, giving me loads of other big bras to try on, adjusting my bra straps (tighter than tight!! My GOD!) and giving me unwanted advice. It was awkward and I broke a sweat. Ugh.

But you know what? I bought two sets in my old size and two in the new size. I've worn them these past weeks a few times and guess what? The 70C does fit me better!! I don't feel my bra anymore during the day, which is good. I guess granny really does know best...:-)

It's weird to be a C-girl, I've been a B-girl since age 15. Am I becoming an adult now?

ps. Belgium was great! But I forgot my camera:-( B did take pics with his phone but I don't have them here. I do have our camera here, so I can take pics of the clothes I got made in Vietnam plus my cool shoes that I bought in Gent. But I have to go iron ten weeks of laundry right now.

You fill your weekend with nice shit to drown out the week
Monday, July 14, 2008

I had a great weekend! I went to eat tapas with Jack, a friend of mine.. we only see eachother about once a year but we always have an ass kicking time! We always make plans to do lots of other stuff but life gets in our way and then a whole year has passed in a whiff. And then we drank some more beers.

Around midnight B picked me up from the train station and we went to a Dub Step party. It got "big" a few years back in the UK and it's kinda underground now but up and coming. It's really nice to dance to some other tunes than we're used to, you get a whole new vibe going. So we shook our asses off! It's nice to go out dancing with B, just the two of us.

Saturday was just to chill, we went out to have lunch with Conrad and watched the movie "Lions for Lambs" at night. It's good but not THAT good. All star cast, with Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep and Robert Redford.

And now it's monday again... but this'll be a short week 'cause thursday night B and I are gonna hit Belgium to go to the Jazz festival! Erykah Badu's coming... YAY!!!

Thanks for this, Steve Mcqueen
Wednesday, July 9, 2008

Just came back from driving lessons. I'm doing pretty well, says my teacher and he says I can take my exams in september. I hope I make it. I read in the Neile Adam's book (about Steve Mcqueen) that he used to take one of his cars for a ride if he wasn't feeling well. Driving was the one thing that could calm him down. He really dug it. And I thought: "Why don't I have such a relationship with driving? Why don't I see it as a way of relaxing?!". And I tried that today. Apparently it worked. This Mcqueen frame-o-mind did my driving good!

I hope I get my license very, very fast. Oh, but at 26, it can't ever be fast again.

Aaaw, I love babies! This baby must be super cute!

Update: These two people are Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend Camila Alves. I love him! He's so funny and gorgeous too. And I really do love babies. Kids too. Anything small'll do actually! Except maybe for mice. Mice freak me out.

Ungrateful piece of ...

There are days that I think that I'm just gonna die out of boredom.

This is such a night. And I know I'm just un-fuckin'-grateful. I have everything, yet there are days that I'm just not content. We booked our summer vacation, we're going to Greece for 12 days at the end of August. Just to chill, relax, unwind. And I'm taking my suitcase, I'm NOT gonna go backpacking anytime soon. Once a year is more than enough!

Aaah. I feel a bit better now. Maybe it's also lack of sleep. I have to get up a bit earlier to catch the bus on time (summer time table).

I had a great weekend, went to have dinner with Kimberley, went clubbing after that in a tiny disco where the DJ spinned Balkan-beats. Supposedly it's the latest rage. Went to a theaterfestival on sunday with B and my pal Otto. I have everything! Then why am I feeling so nervous?

All you need is ...

Besides actin' like a damn fool this past weekend, I also got this book:

I read it cover to cover on saturday afternoon... it was one hell of a trip! I cried my eyes out, it's all about love in the most unreal circumstances. Drugs, sex, fame, money, clothes, cars, motorcycles, hang-ups about parents... Plus, a bit more love. It's gossipy and quite well written, actually... I say go read!!

Oh my, it has sparked something in me. B and I are going steady for quite a few years and I must admit I've taken him for granted at times.

Yesterday was a super hot beautiful day, and rode past my workplace on his way home. So he picked me up and we went to have dinner at the beach, laid around on the sand in the evening and I spent the night at his place. It was a very pleasurable evening.

This is me. 32-year old, mother of 1 and living in Europe. Going through life with one hell of a man, lots of love for my family and a pretty tight circle of mismatched friends. Very self-confident even though I don't know what the fuck I'm doing! (more)
